Two trees stand in isolation – one big, one small.
One elm, one hawthorn. Both managing to survive on a windswept fell side. At times they appear independent, at other times a partnership. Always imagining some kind of close relationship between them, this view really appealed to me as I imagined big overseeing small. The size and strength of the elm is emphasised here as it visually dominates the diminutive hawthorn, but at the same time a protective canopy of branches arches over the smaller tree.
