It was the end of a long day backpacking in Parque Nacional Torres Del Paine, Patagonia. I was in a walking rhythm and was focused on the campsite which was within touching distance at probably less than an hour away. That and dropping the heavy pack I’d been carrying on my back all day.
This dead and detached tree limb caught my eye. I stopped, looked it up and down and then walked on as I was still processing and visualising the photographic possibilities in my minds eye. The colour, texture and detail of the wood were at the forefront of my mind as I turned round and went back to take the picture.
